Valuing the Jaguar Type 00

Predicting Type 00 current valuations and depreciation with Brego

Jaguar Type 00

With the concept vision release of the Jaguar Type 00, we thought it would be an interesting exercise to see what valuations our AI will produce. While other valuation service providers need current or historic data to value vehicles, Brego's valuation engine is the only one of its type in the world - we use deep learning to analyse the entire market, allowing us to predict cars from mass market all the way to concept vehicles such as this new Jaguar Type 00 - all without the need of historic data for specific vehciles.

Disclaimers

  • The Type 00 is a concept car, these valuations are predictions based on assumptions of the production car, as if it came out today.
  • We've made a number of assumptions:
    • The Type 00 will share similar specifications to the Rolls Royce Spectre
    • It will cost £120,000 new
    • It has a 120KW battery with 430KWh
  • It's worth noting that the market will change significantly in the time between today and the production-ready car due in 2026. The current EV market isn't as strong as it likely will be in two years time and these valuations will be updated when production specifications come out.
  • These valuations showcase our ability to value cars with no market data on that vehicle. However, because the Type 00 is a concept car with no confirmed specification and coming out in a number of years time, these valuations should be seen as speculation and predictive modelling - not as factual valuations.

Valuations

After setting up all the features of the car in our system, we can then use our web-based Platform to view these valuations. We release new AI models at least every month, so this Jaguar will be available to all our users. Once you search for the vehicle you're looking for, you're greeted with this page:

Current Valuations

Unsurprisingly, the current valuation is due to be between £110,000 and £140,000. Our AI accounts for different option packs which is what the low, average and high valuations are predicting here. When valuing a vehicle, our deep-learning system looks at every single vehicle in the market, not just the ones that are currently or historically for sale. We then use each vehicle to determine the impact on valuation each feature of that vehicle has.

In this case, Jaguar's historically have not performed as well as competitors when it comes to residual values (more on that in the next section) so the AI model will pick this up and understand exactly how Jaguar's perform as a brand. We then dive deeper and look at the model lineups, fuel types, body styles, colours, mileages and much more (over 100 features) to calculate the exact valuation given all of the vehicle's features.

The top valuations are retail prices and the below are trade values.

Future Valuations

When we look at future valuations, it’s clear the Jaguar Type 00 follows a similar trend to other luxury vehicles of this EV category. The 12-month retail value is projected to be £92,242, with a corresponding trade value of £80,900. However, as we extend to 24, 36, 48, and 60 months, we see a steady decline, reaching £51,675 at 60 months (trade value: £45,607).

This trajectory highlights a residual value loss typical of Jaguar vehicles. By 60 months, the total depreciation from the original valuation exceeds 50%, with the trade value dropping by nearly 57%.

Our AI model provides these insights by factoring in historical market trends, brand performance, and over 100 vehicle-specific features. For Jaguar, the depreciation is partially driven by market perceptions of the brand’s longevity, reliability, and desirability compared to competitors.

These insights reinforce the importance of understanding future valuations, particularly for luxury car buyers looking to minimise depreciation costs. Jaguar’s unique characteristics as a brand redefining itself, combined with the specific features of the Type 00, will play a critical role in shaping its long-term value.

Viewing this in graph form, we can see the depreciation more clearly. This curve may change by 2026 depending on what happens within the EV market in the next few years.

Final Thoughts

The Jaguar Type 00’s design has divided enthusiasts but its projected valuation curve is less than ideal and mirrors other luxury EVs in the market right now. Starting at a price of £120,000, the sharp drop to just over £50,000 in retail value at 60 months represents a significant loss in value for prospective owners.

It’s also worth noting that the electric vehicle market is in flux. Currently, EV prices are experiencing widespread drops, and the market could look very different by the Type 00’s release in 2026. If trends shift, these projections — based on today’s market and modelled using the Rolls-Royce Spectre specifications as a base — may change as well.

Jaguar’s historically weak residual values remain a challenge. Unless the brand can evolve its perception and performance in the luxury EV market, these depreciation figures may persist, making it harder for Jaguar to compete with brands that retain value better over time. The Type 00 has the potential to redefine Jaguar’s trajectory, but it faces stiff competition and market pressures that could make its long-term value a tough sell.

We will continue to monitor and model the new Jaguar lineup here at Brego and post any new changes when an updated production-ready specification is available.

Our system is the most accurate AI-based vehicle valuation system in the UK and unlike others, it can value vehicles with no historic data such as new cars, supercars, hypercars and special editions. It can also value mass market cars with even more accuracy and offers more data and analytics than any other provider. But a quick reminder is necessary; these are predicted valuations modelled with todays market data and assumes similar specifications to the Rolls Royce Spectre. It is extremely likely that these variables will change and these values should be seen as predictions - not a fact of how the new Jaguars will perform.
